Listen As A Podcast

  May the 16th.

As Luke continues his story in the reading today, he moves us from the success Paul had with Lydia to the opposition he encountered not long after. It resulted in he and Silas being jailed.

That surely must have been very challenging. They had probably been beaten up and roughly treated. Yet he tells us that they were praying and singing hymns to God.

The events that followed brought them face to face with their captors. They didn't take it out on them. They rather shared their faith and hope with them. They didn't have all the answers, but they freely and joyfully shared the hope that they did have.

We may not be as roughly treated in our day. But we certainly do have the same hope and joy to share with others.
