February the 23rd.
Moses speaks to the people in this first reading today. He also addresses each of us on the second day of our return to hope. He tells them to choose wisely. He tells us much the same. He tells them to be active and positive. What a great council that is for us. Have you decided what you might do this Lent?
You might be saying, “I really don't have all that much time!" Jesus might be saying, “That's okay. It's not quantity that counts; it's quality.” Look at things you do that could be improved or done in a better way. Take a look at things that perhaps need a little more attention or care on your part. The time you take to reflect may show you where a bit of attention and care could be very fruitful.
Father, thank you for this time and opportunity to choose.
