March the 19th.
As we hear the gospel account of the man born blind and his miraculous cure, we experience joy. He can now see! He can be a more active part of society. He can feel complete and whole. All of this gives him a joy that we can share.
As we enter the fourth week of Lent, we might reflect to see how our Lenten disciplines thus far has done any of this for us. To the extent that it has, we can rejoice.
Our journey of return to hope is far from over. Yet moments of joy can give us new strength for our journey. We are enabled to continue our efforts and to see more clearly where and how the Lord leads us.
