The Registered Professional Nurse plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care at our free clinic. This position assists the clinic director and health care providers with patient care, administrative tasks, and clinic operations. The RN serves underserved and uninsured populations with sensitivity, respect, and professionalism.

Clinical Duties:
Prepare patients for examination (e.g., measure vital signs, weight, height, chief complaint).
Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
Administer basic tests (e.g., glucose, urine dipstick) and collect specimens as directed.
Provide patient education and instructions per provider orders (e.g., medication use, follow-up care).
Provide care management support.
Perform electrocardiograms as needed.
Make sure all the clinical equipment is in good working order.
Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and ready for use.
Administrative Duties:
Greet patients and help with intake paperwork.
Maintain accurate and confidential electronic and/or paper medical records.
Answer phone calls and return calls in a prompt time-frame.
Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups.
Assist with referrals to specialists or community services as needed.
Support front desk operations when necessary.
Call in prescription orders to pharmacies.
Assist with patient referrals as needed.
Team and Clinic Support:
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth work flows.
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
Help coordinate supplies and inventory management.
Assists with coordination of clinic volunteer staff.
Provides support with data collection and process/procedures.
Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited RN program. Prefer bachelor’s degree.
CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience in a clinical, community health or population health background setting preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and underserved communities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge/experience with Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
Knowledge/experience with Electronic Health Records.
Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) a plus.
Understanding of Franciscan Catholic and moral teachings.

Working Conditions:
Hours: 10-15 hours per week (includes Wednesday evening patient clinic hours).
Standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
