April the 2nd.
As we enter this holy week, the gospel of Matthew states that on Palm Sunday, the people who witnessed the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem asked, “Who is this?” As we prepare to recall the events of this pivotal week on our return to hope, it gives us key words to reflect upon.
Who is this who will:
be proclaimed by the crowds on the way
betrayed by a friend in the garden
share the Passover with his intimate friends and disciples
be judged by the Sanhedrin
be crucified by the Romans
die before his faithful friends
be buried in a stranger's tomb
Has our journey during this year and all that is happening in our lives given us more food for reflection?
Lord Jesus, may I know you more each day.
