April the 3rd.
April the third as we listen to the words of the gospel today, we meet Lazarus and his sisters, Mary and Martha, as well as the Apostle Judas. Each of these have choices to make.
Mary chooses to anoint the feet of Jesus to show her love for him. Judas chooses to criticize her action to show his love for the law and his own personal gain. Mary's love goes out. Judas’ love goes in.
Our journey of Lent has given us much to reflect upon. Has it made us better able to see where our choices lead and to make them in a more positive way?
The gospel yesterday reminded us that the same people who chose to praise Jesus on his entry into Jerusalem chose Barabbas over him just days later.
Lord, as I live this week, help me to reflect so that my choices may be more positive.
