Listen As A Podcast

   April the 6th.

The liturgy on Holy Thursday takes us back to the upper room in which Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples. As faithful Jews, they remembered and celebrated the way in which the blood of the Paschal lamb saved them from death and opened for them freedom from slavery.

Our celebration also recalls for us how the passion and death that Jesus was about to undergo freed us from the slavery of sin and renewed us for the freedom to be children of God.

As we celebrate today, we are instructed by Jesus, as the disciples were that night, to do this in memory of him.

Reflect today on this. Carry it with you each time that you participate in the Eucharistic sacrifice.
