April the 10th.
The reading from the Acts of the Apostles relates how the resurrection was the reality that was the focus of Peter's preaching 50 days after the event. He didn't say that he fully understood it; he just testified how it had changed his life and that of all the apostles.
On our journey this year, we will share that reality. We'll be attentive to how it is changing our lives 2,000 years later. We have accumulated much more evidence, but we are still far from fully understanding it.
Death still confronts us in so very many ways, but the truth and the light of the resurrection help us to cope. It helps us to continue the journey.
As we move forward, we embrace this opportunity to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus and its impact and meaning in our lives.
Risen Lord, thank you for sharing with me the reality of your victory.
