Listen As A Podcast

May the 8th.

The Old Testament teaches us that God was very present to his creatures in the beginning of time. Sin brought about change.

From that time on humankind has longed for and sought out the presence of God. The temple and places of sacrifice became moments where humankind could again experience this presence.

When Jesus appeared, he brought a renewed hope for this presence. He promised to send the Spirit to continue it.

As we hear in the reading from the acts of the Apostles, people came to feel the presence of God when the Spirit acted through the disciples. Our return to hope focuses us on how we are temples of the spirit, and instruments of God's love and presence in our world.

Be mindful of this when you pray and as you celebrate today.
