April the 30th.
As shepherds played an important part in the announcement of the birth of Jesus, so the image of him as the Good Shepherd plays a significant role in announcing his resurrection from the dead.
He proclaims he is the Good Shepherd. He invites us to follow him. As we make our return to hope, he again says, “I am the one. Follow me, know my voice, know my invitation. I am the gateway to true peace and fulfillment.”
Know the way. Know the truth. Amid the other many other voices seeking our attention, this one offers hope and security.
Jesus shepherd of my soul, help me to follow you faithfully.
