May the 5th.
In the gospel proclamation today, Jesus tells us that he is the way. Like Thomas, we might be questioning. We might be saying, “Show us more clearly, Lord!”
He has invited us to a life like His: one of sacrifice and service. How well have we understood this? What is the service that we are called to at this moment?
If it is clear to us, how can we persevere more faithfully? If there is uncertainty, how can this moment be one or more decisive action? Where is the finger of God pointing us to through the words of scripture?
Our journey of return and his way come together in many and surprising ways.
Risen Lord, help me to recognize you and to follow you as my way.
