May the 6th.
Listening to the conversation between Jesus and his disciples gives us much to reflect upon. They had been with him for some time. They still had a lot to learn.
As we journey toward Pentecost, we have been listening to Jesus for more than two months. Most of us have been followers of Jesus for much longer. We may think we know much about him. What has he shared with us in these recent days?
Perhaps he has allowed us to see something about ourselves that could improve. Perhaps he has invited us to emulate his service in a different or better way. Perhaps his words have painted a fuller picture of God for us to contemplate.
Jesus, thank you for the opportunity to turn to you.
