March the 5th.
The scriptures on this Second Sunday of Lent speak to us of God revealing himself to humankind. The Old Testament reading portrays God making himself known to Abram. The gospel tells us how Jesus allowed three of His apostles to see Him in His full reality as the Son of God. St. Paul reminds us of how Jesus makes Himself known to us.
All of these are like invitations to us to use this time of return to hope to know God. They're given to us like trailers in a movie theater to keep us going on our journey.
Lord, thank you for encouraging me as I make this journey toward the hope that you offer me.
